Order regarding verification or stamping of Electronic Fare Meters

Home/ Order Regarding Verification or Stamping of Electronic Fare Meters

Date:8.1.2003

ORDER

At present at the TMU the Electronic Fare Meters are being first calibrated in the lab and then a V.C is issued to the dealer. These Electronic Meters are there after sold to the Auto Rickshaw drivers and are mounted on the Auto Rickshaw. These Auto Rickshaws are then put to Road test where efficiency of the meter along with transducer fitted in the Auto and cabling work done is tested by causing the Auto Rickshaw to drive at least 1.5 Kilometre at the Burari Pit. It has been experienced during the last week that if the Road test is done for longer distance then the deficiency in the Electronic Fare Meters are more noticeable as the difference in the actual Kilometre run and reflected in the Electronic Fare Meter becomes appreciable.

In view of this and circumstances prevailing for the time being, it is ordered that Road test may be done for at least 6 kilometre and all the drivers of Electronic Fare Meters may be asked to get the meters recalibrated where ever the distance shown is more than 100 meter than it actually travels as per the estimates of the inspectors. To remove any doubt it is ordered that no meters should be passed if on travelling 6 Kilometres (i.e., 8 rounds of the Burari Pit) it actually reflects that the distance travelled is more than 6.1 Kilometre.

These orders shall take effect immediately.
