CIRCULAR NO. 4
Vide circular number 3 it was clarified that model approval number should be mentioned while issuing VC and it was also clarified that word “NA” be mentioned if the Model approval number is not required.
It has come to my notice that some of the Zonal Officers/ILMs have insisted for model approval number even in those cases where the weights & measures had been verified by our department in the past years.
It is further clarified that no model approval be insisted upon in those cases where our Inspectors (ILMs) had earlier verified the weights & measures on the assumption that the model approval was not required. In the case of new goods how ever the model approval number, if required, as per law should invariably be mentioned and circular number 3 be followed.
